Discussing the noble verse (People ask you about the Hour) and mentioning the signs of the Hour.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : O my brothers, we heard two verses from the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) tonight; the first is in the obligatory prayer and the second is in the voluntary prayer. Which one did we hear in the obligatory prayer? Say, my brother. One. Stand up, man. You heard it. You did not pray with us. Well, where is your heart? Did you forget, or were you distracted at the beginning? You forgot, okay. Who knows? Please, I took it, I think.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : He read this. But the first thing he read. The first thing he read. Rest.
The student :
People ask you concerning the Hour. Say," Knowledge of it is only with Allah. And what may make you perceive? Perhaps the Hour is near."
[Al-Ahzab 33:63]
.

The Shaykh : Well done. May Allah bless you. Yes.
People ask you concerning the Hour
[Al-Ahzab 33:63]
The address in His saying:
Ask you يسألك
is to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). People love to know about everything. So they used to ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) about the Hour, saying, "When will it be?" So Allah (Mighty and Majestic) answered, "Say:
Its knowledge is only with Allah
[Al-A'raf 7:187]
." No one knows it. This is only a tool of restriction. And restriction, according to the scholars, is affirming the ruling for what is mentioned and denying it for everything else. - Sit down, my son, sit down, do not stand up -
Its knowledge is only with Allah
[Al-A'raf 7:187]
No one knows it, neither from humans nor from angels, neither from jinn nor from humans, neither from messengers nor from the awliya (close friends of Allah). Its knowledge is with its Lord (Mighty and Majestic), but
And what may make you perceive? Perhaps the Hour is near." وما يدريك لعل الساعة تكون قرببا
[Al-Ahzab 33:63]
, meaning perhaps the Hour is near, because its signs and portents have appeared, as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly
[Az-Zukhruf 43:66]
. - Do not mess around, put the papers away later, and the reading tonight is not for you -.
Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly? But already there have come [some of] its indications
[Muhammad 47:18]
Meaning its signs indicating its nearness. And among its signs is: the sending of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), where he said:
The Hour and I were dispatched like these two
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2214Sahih (Darussalam)
The Hour and I were dispatched like these two
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2214Sahih (Darussalam)
. And he pointed with his middle finger and index finger, meaning they are close together. The indication in the conclusion of the message with Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to the nearness of the Hour is apparent. So the Hour is near. But no one knows when it will be, and it does not come to people except suddenly, until it comes while two men are spreading a garment between them to buy and sell it, and the Hour occurs. And a man is fixing the trough of his camels for them to drink from, and the Hour occurs before that. So it comes to people suddenly. And no one knows when it will come. And look at the hadith of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), the long hadith in which Jibril taught us our religion through his questions to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and the answer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to him. Jibril said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and he is the most knowledgeable of the messengers, and he is the most knowledgeable of the messengers from the angels in the Shari'ah of Allah and the revelation of Allah, as we know. He said, "Who is the most knowledgeable of humans?" Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)
The one who is asked knows no more than the one who asks
Mishkat al-Masabih 741
meaning, if you do not know, then I do not know. He said:
Then inform me about its signs, so he informed him.
. So if the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), Muhammad, who is the most knowledgeable of humans by the revelation of Allah, said to Jibril, who is the most knowledgeable of the angels by the revelation of Allah, as we know:
The one who is asked knows no more than the one who asks
Mishkat al-Masabih 741
. Then who other than them, who other than the two of them, knows or does not know? Answer, everyone. They do not know. And whoever claims knowledge of the Hour and that it will be on such a day, or such a month, or such a year, or such a thousand, is a disbeliever. And whoever believes him is a disbeliever. Why? Because if you believe the one who says that the Hour is after a thousand years, or two thousand, or three, or more, or less, you have lied to the saying of Allah the Exalted, read it:
Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him
[Al-A'raf 7:187]
