What is the ruling on a person saying that among the signs of the Hour is to do such-and-such?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. Shaykh: What is the ruling on a person saying that among the signs of the Hour is to do such-and-such?

The Shaykh : Who?

The questioner : To do such-and-such.

The Shaykh : From what? From the signs of what?

The questioner : From the signs of the Hour, to do such-and-such.

The Shaykh : Which Hour?

The questioner : The Resurrection.

The Shaykh : It is known that if this action is among the portents of the Hour, we say so; otherwise, it is not permissible for us to say it. For example, "knowledge is removed" is a sign of the Hour. Yes, we say, more accurately, "the Hour will not stand until knowledge is taken away." This is because it may be close to the Hour or far from it. Some people think that when a hadith like "the Hour will not stand until such-and-such happens" comes, some scholars classify it as one of the portents of the Hour. That is not the case. It is not one of the portents of the Hour, but the Hour will not stand until it occurs. There may be times between it and the Hour that only Allah can count.
The Hour will not stand until the Arabian Peninsula returns to pastures and rivers لا تقوم الساعة حتى تعود جزيرة العرب مروجًا وأنهارًا
Do we say that if it returns to pastures and rivers, this is a sign of the nearness of the Hour? No. But the reality is that the portents of the Hour have existed for a long time, but they are distant portents. The sending of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is one of the portents of the Hour. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The Hour and I were dispatched like these two بعثت أنا والساعة كهاتين
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2214Sahih (Darussalam)
and he mentioned the index and middle fingers. Yes, but tighten your belt now. Strive in seeking knowledge. Strive.
