Evidence that the punishment is for part of the body and not the whole body, with an example of this such as letting a man’s garment hang below the ankles.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And in this hadith:
Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire. ويل للأعقاب من النار
Sunan Ibn Majah 453Sahih (Darussalam)
is evidence that the punishment may be for only part of the body.
The point of this is that he said:
Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire. ويل للأعقاب من النار
Sunan Ibn Majah 453Sahih (Darussalam)
. The wisdom is that the part where the disobedience occurred is the heels. This is similar to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the garments of men, regarding the garments of men:
But whatever is lower than the ankle is in the Fire ما أسفل من الكعبين ففي النار
Sunan Ibn Majah 3573Sahih (Darussalam)
meaning that if the garment is let down, it is let down from the ankles, so the part that is let down is punished in the Fire, whether you let it down out of arrogance and pride, or out of habit, or for amusement. For this reason, it is not permissible for a man to let his garment, or his trousers, or his shirt hang below the ankles. If he does so, let him prepare for the punishment of the Fire for what he has let down. And unfortunately, with the reversal of the situation, people today are the opposite. You find some people have let their garments down until they touch the ground, and the women? They let their garments down until they drag on the ground, or is it the opposite? The opposite, even the children. You find a boy, two boys, one female and one male, with their father or with their mother. The female’s garment is to the knee, the garment to the knee, and the boy’s to the ankle, or let down. Meaning the situation has been reversed, and may Allah protect us, even though it is the woman who is commanded to have her garment drag on the ground in order to cover the feet. As for the man, it is not permissible for him to let it hang below the ankle. And the ankle is the prominent bone at the bottom of the lower leg. And since we are discussing clothing, letting the clothing down to the ground is divided into two categories:
The first: that it be out of arrogance and pride. The warning for this, and may Allah protect us, is that Allah will not speak to him, nor look at him, nor purify him, and he will have a painful punishment, a great retribution. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, in what Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from him, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Three people to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor look at them, nor purify them, and they will have a painful punishment. Then he said it a second time, then a third time. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, they have failed and lost; who are these?” He said, “The one who lets his garment hang below the ankles, the one who gives charity for show, and the one who swears falsely to sell his goods.”
. If so, it is from the major sins.
As for if he lets it hang below the ankle and it is not out of pride, but out of habit or amusement, then this has another punishment, which is.
