What is the duty of a student of knowledge regarding the innovations that appear in the Prophet's Mosque by individuals, with an example?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : What is the duty of a student of knowledge regarding some of the innovations that may appear in the Prophet's Mosque by some individuals, with an example? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : As for the questioner's request that I provide an example, this is one of the wonders of the times. He is asking me while he is currently in Madinah, and I do not reside in Madinah, so he asks me about something he knows better than I do, requesting an example of it. I do not know. But in any case, if any person introduces into the religion of Allah something that is not part of it, whether in the Prophet's Mosque, the Sacred Mosque, other mosques, the market, or the home, it is obligatory for one who has knowledge to warn him and say: "This is a religious innovation (bid'ah)." There is no blame in this; it is part of cooperating in righteousness and piety. It is obligatory for the one who gives advice to thank Allah the Exalted for making it easy for him to have someone who advises him and guides him to good, so that he does not fall into sin. The person who is advised and shown the truth but then persists in what he is doing is in great danger, because Allah said in His great Book:
And if they turn away - then know that Allah only intends to afflict them with some of their [own] sins فإن تولوا فاعلم أنما يريد الله أن يصيبهم ببعض ذنوبهم
[Al-Ma'idah 5:49]
Thus, turning away from advice is a calamity
then know that Allah only intends to afflict them with some of their [own] sins. And indeed, many among the people are defiantly disobedient. فاعلم أنما يريد الله أن يصيبهم ببعض ذنوبهم وإن كثيرا من الناس لفاسقون
[Al-Ma'idah 5:49]
. So if you see an innovator (mubtadi') in a verbal, practical, or creedal innovation, you must advise him. But it is obligatory, O brothers, that we advise this person and his like with the intention of reforming him, reforming him and lifting him out of what he is doing. Do not intend to criticize him, because if you advise him with the intention of criticizing him, be assured that Allah will never place blessing in your advice, ever, and he will oppose you. But if you intend to show him compassion, feel pity for him, have mercy on him, and clarify the truth to him, then at that time he will accept it from you; Allah will place in his heart the acceptance of your advice. The calamity of some callers to Allah is that when they advise someone in a verbal, practical, or creedal innovation, they place it in the position of what? Criticism. So at that time, the second person becomes stubborn. But if he makes it his intention in his heart—and Allah is All-Knowing of intentions, and in His hand are the hearts; He is the One who softens this man's heart so that he accepts from you—if Allah knows from your intention that you do not intend criticism but rather intend his reform, then Allah will make it easy for you and accept it from you. Yes.
Yes, it is now nine o'clock. May Allah bless you. This is the appointment between us, and this brother, yes. Ah, no, I am saying there is still time remaining. Hmm, fine, fine, there is no contradiction, there is no objection.
I am saying there is one minute remaining. There are nine hours remaining until Fajr, nine hours remaining until Fajr, what? Yes. What?
No, the finger is like this, standing still, and during the supplication, you move it upward. This is what we see to be the recommended practice (sunnah), if Allah wills...
