Is it recommended to face the qiblah for the one who recites the Noble Qur'an?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. Is it recommended to face the qiblah for the one who recites the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Is it recommended to face the qiblah for the one who recites the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : Yes, I do not know of a sunnah (recommended practice) in this matter that a person should face the qiblah when he intends to recite the Qur'an. However, some of the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said that the best in every act of worship is to face the qiblah, except where evidence indicates otherwise. They stated that when one performs wudu' (the ablution for prayer), he should face the qiblah, and when one sits to remember Allah, he should face the qiblah. They say that the best in every act of worship is to face the qiblah, except where evidence indicates otherwise. But this requires clear evidence, and there is no analogical reasoning (qiyas) in acts of worship. Therefore, the correct view is that a person should not specifically seek to face the qiblah, nor should he intentionally avoid it; he should read wherever he is. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lean on the lap of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and recite the Qur'an, and it is not reported that he specifically intended to face the qiblah, nor did he encourage his Ummah (the Muslim community) to face the qiblah when reciting the Qur'an, as far as I know. Yes.
