Is it permissible for the masbuq to move forward to take a sutrah in front of him?

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. Sometimes the ma'mum misses one or two rak'ahs, and when the imam finishes the prayer, he finds the sutrah in front of him, meaning it is two or three paces away. Does he move forward to it, O Shaykh? Is it permissible for him to move forward to the sutrah?

The Shaykh : What appears to me from the practice of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) is that the masbuq does not take a sutrah, and that he makes up the missed prayer without a sutrah.
