Continuation of the benefits of the verse: “Allah mocks them and leaves them in their transgression to wander blindly”

And the punishment serves as expiation for his sins and a warning to him, because every sane believer, when he is struck by a calamity and knows that he is the cause, will be deterred from his corruption and disobedience. So when Allah the Exalted intends to warn a believer, He hastens the punishment for him, and he walks upon the earth with no sin upon him due to the expiation of sins through these afflictions.
