Continuation of the explanation of the saying of Allah the Exalted: << إن الذين لا يؤمنون بالأخرة زينا لهم أعمالهم فهم يعمهون >>

The one whose evil deeds are made attractive to him, that is a sign of the deficiency of his faith in the Hereafter. If his faith in the Hereafter were complete, he would know the good from the bad, so he would do the good and avoid the bad. But because of the weakness of his faith in the Hereafter, he considers this ugly action and sees it as good.
There is no need for us to enumerate types of this, because the types of those whose evil deeds are made attractive to them are very numerous. There is no doubt that among the evil deeds is when a person descends into the land, takes four stones, places three for the fire, and one which he worships.
There is no doubt that among the evil deeds made attractive is when a person is given dates in the shape of an idol, so he worships it, and when he comes, he eats it. And there is no doubt that among the evil deeds made attractive is when a man comes to his daughter, who is the fruit of his heart, digs a hole for her, and throws her in while she is alive. This is what happens, may Allah protect us, and not even the beasts do this. And yet, this deed was made attractive to a people of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, to the extent that they say: he stands over the hole to throw her in, and when he is about to throw her, she clings to him and says: "O my father! O my father!"
So she seeks safety with him, and he is her disease. We ask Allah for well-being.
And His saying: "[Surat al-Naml:4] they wander therein " This, may Allah protect us, is due to a lack of faith, that a person does not agree to guidance. You find him confused, because he did not believe. The most prominent example of that is the confusion that occurs among the people of kalam (theology), because they did not believe in Allah with true belief in Him. They denied His attributes and denied what came in His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger, so they became confused. For this reason, some people said: The people who complain the most at the time of death are the people of kalam, may Allah protect us, because they, we ask Allah for well-being, did not believe.
So every person whose faith weakens, these two evil matters result from it:
First: The making attractive of the evil deed in his eyes, until he practices it and is not deterred from it.
And the second: His doubt, confusion, and hesitation.
By this, we now know that the stronger the faith in the Hereafter, the more the person knows the ugly and does not hesitate in it. We say: No. Because this is a practical, scriptural result. If this description necessitates this description, then its absence necessitates its absence. It is a very clear equation.
So those who do not believe in the Hereafter are afflicted with these two matters, and those who believe in the Hereafter, these two matters are removed from them. We ask Allah to make us and you among the believers.
The student: ...?
The Shaykh : No. They do not have faith in reality. If they had faith in reality, it would not have been made attractive to them, because this verse is the measure for every person whose evil deed is made attractive to him. Know that he is deficient in faith forever, because if they had true faith, what would take them away from the path of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)... So, the weaker the faith in the Hereafter, the more the ugly is made attractive in the eyes of the person, and the more his faith in the Hereafter increases, the more he hates the ugly deeds. And this is a matter that is now accepted.
On this basis, we can deduce that the man who approves of the ugly deeds, we can deduce that he is weak in faith in the Hereafter. Yes, my son, because if his faith in the Hereafter were strong, the ugly deeds would not appear good to him, and this verse indicates that.
And in the verses there is also evidence that the lack of faith in the Hereafter is a cause of confusion, due to His saying:[Surat al-Naml:4].
And on this basis, faith in the Hereafter is a cause of certainty and light, and this is also an observed matter. A person is not afflicted with a lack of certainty except because of his deeds and the deficiency of his faith. And the stronger the faith, the more the person increases in knowledge, even in matters that are not scientific or legal. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) gives him insight by which he distinguishes things.
