Are there any rulings regarding the newborn concerning shaving his hair and giving charity equal to its weight, and performing the adhan and iqamah in his ears?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh: Is it reported that among the rulings for the newborn is shaving his hair and giving charity equal to its weight? And is it also reported that the adhan is performed in his right ear and the iqamah in his left ear?

The Shaykh : As for the first, which is shaving the hair of the head, this is specific to the male, not the female. The female’s head is not shaved, and charity is not given equal to its weight in silver. This is correct. As for the adhan and iqamah, the adhan in his right ear when he is born and the iqamah in his left, there are hadiths regarding this, but they are subject to scrutiny. The iqamah is weaker than the adhan. Yes.
