If a person has a cast on his leg that covers half of it, how does he wipe over it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. Regarding wiping over the leather socks, if a person is injured in half of his foot with pain or a bruise, and he has wrapped up half of this joint or this foot approximately.

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Half of the foot is exposed and the other half is wrapped in gauze or a bandage, so how is the wiping performed? May Allah reward you?

The Shaykh : This, may Allah reward you, is not wiping over the leather socks. If a person has wrapped up half of his foot due to pain in it, the scholars call this a cast. Wash what is exposed and wipe over what remains on the whole thing. This has no time limit, and it is not required that he put it on while in a state of ritual purity. It is permissible in the case of minor ritual impurity and major ritual impurity, because the scholars call this?

The questioner : A cast.

The Shaykh : A cast, so this does not fall under wiping over the leather socks.

The questioner : The exposed side?

The Shaykh : Huh?

The questioner : The exposed side is the one that is only washed?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is washed.
