A person who died owing a debt to the Development Bank: what is the obligation of his heirs?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I say, O Shaykh: A man passed away and he had a remaining balance with the Development Bank. Does it remain in his liability?

The Shaykh : If a person dies and he owes the Development Bank, provided he had paid the installments that became due during his lifetime.

The questioner : Yes, he paid them.

The Shaykh : Then he is absolved, and the remainder is upon the heirs. If he had something remaining that he did not pay, it is obligatory that it be paid immediately, even if it requires selling the house.

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.
