Explanation of the author's statement: "And its milk."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he said, "And its milk". What is the milk? I do not have a dead animal here; its milk means the milk of a dead animal. When asked where the pronoun refers back to, we say it refers to his statement, "And the skin of a dead animal does not become pure". The skin of a dead animal. As for the copies in your hands, the pronoun refers to his statement, "The bone of a dead animal". The dead animal in his statement "and the bone of a dead animal." But that is not the case in my view. The milk of a dead animal is impure, even if it has not changed due to it. Even if it has not changed due to it, why? Because one does not know; it is impure. But what is the status of the milk? They said that because it is a liquid, it encountered impurity, so it becomes impure by it. It is a liquid, like water. If impurity falls into a liquid, it becomes impure by it. Otherwise, in reality, it is separated from the dead animal, which was in a state of life, because this udder is a container for it, in the position of a vessel. But they say that when it died, it became impure, so this milk has encountered impurity and becomes impure by it. The Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah chose that it is pure, that the milk of a dead animal is pure, based on his choice, (may Allah have mercy on him), that a thing does not become impure except by change. So he said if this milk has not changed by the blood of the dead animal or something similar to it, then it becomes pure. And what appears to me in this issue is that the stronger opinion is the school's position, because even though it separated and gathered in the udder before it died, it is slight in relation to what it encountered of impurity, because the impurity surrounds it from every side, so it is slight. Then, what appears is that the stench of death spreads to this liquid milk, because it is not like water in its strength to repel impurity, so it becomes impure. Then, even if we say that there is consideration in this regarding the rule, because the rule with us is that what does not change by impurity is not impure, and this is a firm and great rule, then we say this is a matter of precaution and taking the generality of the statement of Allah the Exalted,
Prohibited to you are dead animals حرمت عليكم الميتة
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
. And this milk that has remained in the udder may be included in the generality. So the important thing is that precaution is to stay away from it.

The questioner : It is permissible to drink ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible to drink it, because it is pure, the milk of a dead animal.
