What is the correct view regarding the means of da'wah: are they restricted to what is prescribed or are they a matter of independent legal reasoning?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh. What is the correct view regarding the means of da'wah: are they restricted to what is prescribed or are they a matter of independent legal reasoning?

The Shaykh : Yes, the correct view regarding the means of da'wah is that they are restricted to what is prescribed, meaning that one does not call to anything other than the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). However, if there is a need for reconciliation and bringing people closer, there is no harm in a person using what brings about the reconciliation of hearts and brings them closer. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called with the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and yet he gave from the zakah to those whose hearts were to be reconciled in order to bring them closer. So if there is something permissible that is used for bringing people closer and reconciling them, there is no harm in it, but on the condition that the primary foundation is the Book and the Sunnah and the path of the righteous predecessors. Yes, from the left.
