If one goes to a restaurant to buy chicken, is it obligatory for him to ask whether the chicken is imported or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah preserve you. Regarding imported chicken, there has been a lot of talk about it.

The Shaykh : From

The questioner : Do you mean, if a person is compelled to buy, is it permissible for him to ask, or is it permissible for him to buy without asking?

The Shaykh : By Allah, the best is to eat without asking.
And the evidence for this is that it is established in *Sahih al-Bukhari* (may Allah have mercy on him) that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
A group of people came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, a group of people bring us meat, and we do not know whether they mentioned the name of Allah over it or not. He said: Mention the name of Allah yourselves and eat. She said: And they were recent converts from disbelief.
Meaning, their Islam is recent, so they may be ignorant of many of the rulings of Islam. And yet the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Mention the name of Allah and eat سموا أنتم وكلوا
He did not order us to ask them. Rather, the apparent meaning of the hadith is that it is prescribed that we do not ask them. If we were to exhaust ourselves in such matters, we would say: Even the meat we have now, which has been slaughtered, requires us to look into who slaughtered it? It might be from someone who does not pray, or from someone who has a major religious innovation that makes his slaughter impermissible. Therefore, if meat is placed before you in a Muslim country, the original ruling is that it has been slaughtered according to the way of Islam, provided that the name of Allah is mentioned over it, as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Mention the name of Allah and eat سموا أنتم وكلوا
Yes.

The questioner : There is someone who mocks this religion. How can I win his heart to enter this religion?

The Shaykh : There is someone.
