What is the ruling on women praying in congregation in their homes? And is it permissible for the woman leading them to recite aloud in the prayers where recitation is loud?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, is it better for women, if they are in one house for example, to perform the prayer in congregation with a woman leading them, or is it better for each of them to pray individually? And if congregation is better for them, is it permissible for the woman leading the women to recite aloud in the prayers where recitation is loud, or not? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : There is scholarly disagreement regarding women praying in congregation in their homes. Some say it is a recommended practice (sunnah), and some say it is not a recommended practice. The more apparent view is that it is not a recommended practice, but if they do it occasionally, there is nothing wrong with it. As is the case now in girls' schools, where the teachers gather and pray in congregation; this is acceptable occasionally. And if it happens that the prayer is at night, there is no harm in reciting aloud if no man hears it.

The questioner : Your Eminence, what is the manner of seeking forgiveness and the virtue of seeking forgiveness?

The Shaykh : I think you are from 'Aynaynah.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Very well.

The questioner : The manner of seeking forgiveness and the virtue of seeking forgiveness.
