In some commercial goods, we earn more than half, and without that, we would not profit or cover the expenses. Is there any harm in that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This questioner says: In some commercial goods, we earn more than half, and if we did not do it this way, we would not profit and would not cover the expenses. Is there any harm in that, O honorable Shaykh?

The Shaykh : If this profit is the price of the country and the merchants in it are sharing in it, then there is nothing wrong with it, because the profit in this country may be high due to the many expenses incurred in transporting the goods from the first country to the second, or for the sake of warehouses, or for any other reason. But if this is a matter of causing harm to people and lacking mercy, then it is not permissible.
Therefore, if the merchants agree to raise the price of a specific commodity that is only available with them, then it is forbidden for them and not permissible.
For example, if the vegetable merchants who sell vegetables agree not to sell the kilogram for less than a certain amount that is more than its value, and no one else is engaged in selling these vegetables, then it is not lawful for them to do so. And the one in authority has the right to intervene and set a specific price that yields profit for the seller without harm to the buying consumers. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
