A late-joining congregation and the ruling when the imam completes the prayer after they have begun making up their missed portion

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : It is said: A late-joining congregation, after the imam’s salam, stood up to make up what they had missed. But it turned out that the imam had not completed the prayer, so he stood up to complete it. At that point, some of the congregation followed the imam, while others completed their prayer individually. What is the ruling for both groups?
Answer: The prayer of both groups is valid. That is, if the imam said the salam due to a deficiency, and a person stood up to make up what he missed, and then the imam remembered and completed the prayer, those who had separated from him have a choice. If they wish, they may join him and then make up what they missed. If they wish, they may continue on their own, because they separated for an excuse that has now been removed. The jurists mentioned a similar case: if a person’s stomach becomes agitated and he wants to vomit, so he separates from the imam, and after separating, his stomach settles, they said that he may continue on his own, or he may return to the imam. Yes.
