The questioner : Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
Your Eminence, it is reported in a hadith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that every person has two companions, or as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said. Where are these two companions during Ramadan, and where are they when one enters the Sacred Precinct?

The Shaykh : This, my brother, is a matter of the unseen. We have no knowledge of matters of the unseen beyond what we have heard. If something regarding the unseen is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we accept it, but we do not ask where it is, how it is, or why it is so. These are matters of the unseen. I advise you, and I advise whoever hears my words, not to engage with matters of the unseen by asking how or why, but rather to say, "We believe in Allah and we believe in what He has said." Praise be to Allah, we are obligated to follow this.
