The shop owner receives gifts with the merchandise; is it permissible for him to dispose of them by selling them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May I ask the Shaykh: Is it permissible for a shop owner, if he purchases merchandise and a gift or prize comes with it, to dispose of this gift or prize by selling it or the like, whether the merchandise is individual or in bulk?

The Shaykh : I mean, the owner of the merchandise gives him a gift.

The questioner : A prize or gift comes with the merchandise, whether it is individual or in bulk; is it permissible to sell it?

The Shaykh : We say: If the seller gives a gift to the buyer, it is his property; he owns it. However, if the buyer is an agent for a company or a government entity, then this gift resembles a bribe. It is well known that if this agent is given a gift, he will prefer this seller over others. Perhaps his goods are cheaper or more expensive, but this gift influences him, so you find him avoiding others and coming to buy from this one.
As for a man who buys for himself and sells to people, if the seller gives him what he gives, there is nothing wrong with it. It is well known.

The questioner : A questioner says:

The Shaykh : Do you hear the answer here with us?

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : Do you hear the question and the answer here with us, or not?

The questioner : Yes, we hear it.

The Shaykh : I say, do you hear the question and the answer that is delivered here?

The questioner : Yes, we hear it.

The Shaykh : Fine.
