A person bequeathed one-third of his wealth; is it obligatory for his heirs to act promptly, or should they wait for the real estate price to rise?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, Ya 'Ayd.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : He has a property.

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : He bequeathed one-third; should the heirs proceed with the division and extract the one-third, or should they delay because the property price might rise?

The Shaykh : No, if he bequeathed one-third of his wealth, it is obligatory to appraise what he left behind from the time of his death, and it is not permissible to delay. Their delaying in the hope that property prices will rise is a mistake, because a person may think that properties will increase in value, only for them to decrease. The obligatory thing is to inventory the estate from the time of death so that it is known what is subject to the bequest.
