The reciter: And Hajjaj ibn al-Sha'ir narrated to me, and 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, and al-Thawri informed us, from 'Uqlamah ibn Marthad, from Sulayman ibn Buraydah, from his father:
That a man made a public appeal in the mosque, saying, "Who is calling for the red camel?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, I did not find it. Mosques were only built for what they were built for." أن رجلا نشد في المسجد فقال : من دعا إلى الجمل الأحمر فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : لا وجدت إنما بنيت المساجد لما بنيت له
