The reciter: Ishaq ibn Mansur narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Mubarak al-Suwayri said: Mu'awiyyah ibn Salam narrated to us from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, who said: Abdullah ibn Abi Qatadah informed me that his father informed him, saying:
While we were praying with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he heard a commotion and said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We hurried to the prayer." He said: "Do not do that. When you come to the prayer, proceed with calmness. Pray what you catch up with, and complete what you missed."
بينما نحن نصلي مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فسمع جلبة فقال: ما شأنكم؟ قالوا استعجلنا إلى الصلاة قال فلا تفعلوا إذا أتيتم الصلاة فعليكم السكينة فما أدركتم فصلوا وما سبقكم فأتموا
