Is there a ruling in the hadith of Malik ibn al-Huwayth that the sitting of rest is obligatory in all cases?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to pray as he saw him praying, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not specify that the sitting of rest is done out of necessity or otherwise.

The Shaykh : This is the observation of the one who says that it is a recommended practice in all cases; this is his observation. He said, "This is the last thing the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did." However, the response to this is that his address to him was an address to him and to the entire Ummah: "Pray as you saw me praying." This applies to him and to others. The Companions saw him praying in the beginning of his mission in a manner other than this, without sitting, and then they saw him sitting at the end of his life, because Malik ibn al-Huwayth only came to him at the end of his life. And at the end of his life, he had gained weight (peace and blessings be upon him), and for this reason Aisha preceded him in the final period. But in my opinion, these issues—these issues of the prostration for forgetfulness are important, meaning that even if we go beyond the custom in them, I think there is no blame on us. Abdullah ibn 'Uthay, practical application, very good.
