The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer-09b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim al-Hanbali narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Adam informed us, saying: al-Fadl ibn Marzuq narrated to us from Shuqayq ibn 'Uqbah from al-Bara' ibn 'Azib, who said:
This verse was revealed: "Guard the prayers and the prayer of 'Asr." We recited it as Allah willed, then Allah abrogated it, and it was revealed: "Guard the prayers and the middle prayer." A man who was sitting with Shuqayq said to him: "So it is the prayer of 'Asr?" Al-Bara' said: "I have told you how it was revealed and how Allah abrogated it, and Allah knows best."
.

The Shaykh : That is how I understood it. No, Shuqayq is the name of the man, one of the narrators.
The reciter: Attached ...

The Shaykh : Attached to "said." So a man said to him.
The reciter: So a man who was sitting with Shuqayq said to him: "So it is the prayer of 'Asr," meaning this order in the language.

The Shaykh : It does not matter if the attached word is delayed; it is permissible.
The reader:
Al-Bara' said: "I have told you how it was revealed and how Allah abrogated it, and Allah knows best." فقال البراء قد أخبرتك كيف نزلت وكيف نسخها الله والله أعلم
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 25:238
