Benefits of the Hadith: (… from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited in the two rak'ahs of Fajr “Say, O you disbelievers” and “Say, He is Allah, the One”)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, this is what is recommended (sunnah) in the two rak'ahs of Fajr: to recite
Say, O you disbelievers قُل يا أَيُّهَا الكافِرونَ
and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, قُل هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
, because the first contains the oneness of worship (tawhid al-uluhiyyah) and the second contains the oneness of the names and attributes (tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat).
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, قُل هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
contains information about Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and His names and attributes, while
Say, O you disbelievers قُل يا أَيُّهَا الكافِرونَ
is the oneness of worship (tawhid al-uluhiyyah), meaning I do not worship except Allah. Yes.
