The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: This is the fourth meeting in the month of Ramadan of the year 1414, which the Da'wah Office in Unayzah has arranged in the Grand Mosque. This is the final meeting, considering this year. We ask Allah the Exalted to make our ending and yours good.
Shaykh Mahmoud suggested to us in the previous meeting that we speak briefly on the interpretation of Surat Saba, al-Kafirun, and al-Ikhlas. This is because these three surahs are recited in the Witr prayer if a person prays Witr with three rak'ahs. Surat Saba is also recited in the Jumu'ah prayer and in the prayers of the two 'Eids. Surat al-Kafirun and al-Ikhlas are recited in the Sunnah of Fajr, in the two rak'ahs of Tawaf, and in the Sunnah of Maghrib as well. Both of them, meaning the two surahs and [Al-Ikhlas 112:1], are recited in these prayers. Therefore, having some knowledge of their interpretation is among the beneficial matters. We say, and we ask Allah for correctness and that He protect us and you from saying regarding His speech what we do not know. For it is not permissible for a person to speak regarding the speech of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) with what he does not know, because the one who speaks about the Book of Allah is testifying that Allah intended such and such by His speech. This is a serious matter. If you interpreted the speech of a scholar and made a mistake, the matter would be light compared to interpreting the speech of Allah and His Messenger. Therefore, a person must be cautious regarding the interpretation of the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and not take its interpretation except from the tongues of trusted scholars or from trusted books of tafsir.
