Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Isma'il narrated to us, Malik narrated to me from Salih ibn Kaysan from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Utbah ibn Mas'ud from Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani that he said:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, led us in the Subh prayer at Hudaybiyya after it had rained on us during the night. When he finished, he faced the people and said, 'Do you know what your Lord has said?' They replied, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'This morning My slaves have become divided up into believers and unbelievers. Those who said, "We had rain by the favour and mercy of Allah," believe in Me and reject the stars. Those who said that it was because of a certain star, disbelieve in Me and believe in the stars."

The Shaykh : In the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, they used to say, "We have been given rain by the constellation," and the constellation is the star when it rises. They attributed the rain to the constellations, meaning to the rising stars. So Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) made it clear that this is disbelief in Him. This is a sacred hadith in which Allah made it clear that attributing rain to the rising constellation is disbelief in Him, because the constellations are not a cause for happiness nor a cause for misery, and the events of the earth have no connection to them.
