Benefits of the Hadith: (A group of My servants became believers in Me and disbelievers. As for the one who said, "We have been rained upon by the grace of Allah and His mercy...")

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In this hadith, there is evidence for several benefits, one of which is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would seize the opportunity to preach when the occasion arose, for the Messenger preached this sermon after the rain had fallen.
Among the benefits of this hadith is the use of the word "sky" (sama') for rain, as he said:
after it had rained in the night على إثر سماء كانت من الليل
Muwatta Malik 13:4
And from this is the saying of the poet:
When the sky descends upon the land of a people, meaning the rain *** We see it, even if they are angry.
Among its benefits is that a teacher should present knowledge to the listener in the form of a question, so that it is more present in his heart, as he said:
Do you know what your Lord has said (revealed)? هل تدرون ماذا قال ربكم؟
Sahih al-Bukhari 846
It is known that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) knew that they did not know this, but he used the form of a question in order to make it more alerting for them.
Among the benefits of this hadith is that one should say, "Allah and His Messenger know best," regarding a matter one does not know, and this applies to matters of the Shari'ah. As for cosmic matters, after the death of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), it is not possible to know them, but during his lifetime, he might have known them. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers وقل اعملوا فسيرى الله عملكم ورسوله والمؤمنون
[At-Tawbah 9:105]
.
We have previously pointed out that some people write this verse when a building is completed or when the work they intend to do is finished, and we have clarified that this is a great error, for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) does not see it without doubt, and it is not correct to apply the verse to a meaning other than its intended one.
Among the benefits of this hadith is that attributing a blessing to other than its bestower and doer is disbelief in that blessing, as he said:
In this morning some of My worshipers remained as true believers and some became non-believers أصبح من عبادي مؤمن بي وكافر
Sahih al-Bukhari 1038
This is by attributing the rain to other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
If someone were to ask: If a person says, "We have been rained upon in such-and-such a constellation," meaning at this time, does this fall under this hadith?
The answer is: No. For this reason, the scholars said that it is forbidden to say, "We have been rained upon by such-and-such a constellation," but it is permissible to say, "in such-and-such a constellation." The difference between the two is clear, for the preposition "by" (bi) in "by such-and-such a constellation" indicates causation, and the constellation is not a cause for the rain; rather, the grace of Allah and His mercy is the cause. The preposition "in" (fi) in "in such-and-such a constellation" indicates time, and that is the truth. If one says, "We have been rained upon in such-and-such a constellation," there is nothing wrong with it.
Among the benefits of this hadith is that the disbeliever is a servant of Allah, but in the general sense, for all of creation are the servants of Allah, in the general sense, as Allah the Exalted said:
There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant. إن كل من في السماوات والأرض إلا آتي الرحمن عبدا
[Maryam 19:93]
Yes.
