The reciter: 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to me from Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn Halhalah al-Dili from Wahb ibn Kaysan Abu Nu'aym from 'Umar ibn Abi Salmah, who is the son of Umm Salmah, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said:
I ate a meal with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) one day, and I began eating from the sides of the platter. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Eat from what is in front of you أكلت يومًا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم طعامًا فجعلت آكل من نواحي الصحفة فقال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : كل مما يليك
