The reciter: And Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, saying: Sa'd ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: 'Umar, meaning ibn Kathir, informed me from Ibn Sufaynah, the freed slave of Umm Salama, from Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: [similar to the hadith of Abu Usamah]. And she added:

She said: When Abu Salama passed away, I said, "Who is better than Abu Salama, the companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" Then Allah made it my resolve, so I said it. She said: So I married the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

قالت فلما توفي أبو سلمة قلت من خير من أبي سلمة صاحب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثم عزم الله لي فقلتها قالت: فتزوجت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
