Benefits of the hadith of 'Utbah ibn Malik asking the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pray in his house.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This hadith contains benefits, and it is one of the important hadiths that a person who wishes to memorize some of this text should memorize, because it contains benefits. Among them is the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) response to the invitation. Among them is the excuse of floods and rain from congregational prayer. Among them is the strength of Abu Bakr's (may Allah be pleased with him) constant companionship with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Among them is that a person should say "if Allah wills" when promising something in the future, based on the saying of the Exalted:
(23) And never say of anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow," (24) Except [when adding], "If Allah wills." ولا تقولن لشيء إني فاعل ذلك غدا إلا أن يشاء الله
[Al-Kahf 18:23-24]
Here the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
I will do that, if Allah (SWT) wills. سأفعل إن شاء الله
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1327Sahih (Darussalam)
Among them is the prescription of seeking permission, even if a person is old and a leader, based on the statement: "So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sought permission." And yes, seeking permission is prescribed even if a person is invited, except if he is invited for a specific time and comes at that time and finds the door open; in that case, it may be said that this is an indication of permission for him. Among them is also that a person should begin with the primary aspect of his work and what is intended, and for this reason, the first thing the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said when he entered was:
Where do you want me to pray? أين تريد أن أصلي ؟
Among them is seeking blessing through the traces of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and this is specific to him; as for others, one does not seek blessing through their traces. If I were to say to a person of worship and religion, "I would like you to come to my house to pray in a place I have designated as a prayer area," we would say this is not prescribed; rather, this is among the specific attributes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Among them is the permissibility of congregational prayer in voluntary prayers, but this is not a consistent rule; rather, it happens occasionally, as he did. Among them is that here it was said, "So we formed rows and he prayed two rak'ahs," and it did not specify whether they formed rows behind him or with him? Did you indicate any narrations to you?
