The reciter: Mas'ud narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us from Abbas al-Jurayri from Abu Usman, who said:
I stayed with Abu Hurayrah for seven nights, and he, his wife, and his servant would divide the night into three parts, taking turns to pray; one would pray and then wake the next. I also heard him say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed dates among his Companions, and I received seven dates, one of which was a dry date. تضيفت أبا هريرة سبعًا فكان هو وامرأته وخادمه يعتقبون الليل أثلاثًا يصلي هذا ثم يوقظ هذا وسمعته يقول قسم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بين أصحابه تمرًا فأصابني سبع تمرات إحداهن حشفة
