Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh. The hadith narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : May Allah send prayers and peace upon him.

The questioner :
Any group of people that assemble in one of the Houses of Allah to recite the Book of Allah, learning and teaching it, tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them, angels will surround them and Allah will make mention of them to those (the angels) in His proximity. ما اجتمع قوم في بيت من بيوت الله يتلون كتاب الله ويتدارسونه فيما بينهم إلا نزلت عليهم السكينة وغشيتهم الرحمة وحفتهم الملائكة وذكرهم الله فيمن عنده
Riyad as-Salihin 1023
If a group of people gather in a place other than the houses of Allah and study books of Islamic jurisprudence, creed, exegesis, hadith, and other matters, do they receive this same favor from Allah the Exalted, or are they of a lower rank than those?

The Shaykh : If the Book and the Sunnah indicate a specific reward for a specific description, we do not go beyond that. The Messenger (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) said:
No people get together in a house of the houses of Allah ما اجتمع قوم في بيت من بيوت الله
Sunan Abi Dawud 1455Sahih (Al-Albani)
The houses of Allah are the mosques. So if a group of people gather in a place other than the mosques, this reward is not recorded for them. However, they are upon good; there is no doubt that their gathering is upon good. As for the specific reward tied to this specific act, it is not obtained except with the descriptions that the Lawgiver has considered. Yes.
