A man said: O Messenger of Allah, what does a person in the state of ihram wear of clothing? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person in the state of ihram does not wear a shirt, nor trousers, nor a cloak, nor leather socks, unless he does not find sandals, in which case he wears what is below the ankles.

أن رجلا قال: يا رسول الله، ما يلبس المحرم من الثياب؟ فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلّم: لا يلبس المحرم القميص، ولا السراويل، ولا البرنس، ولا الخفين، إلا أن لا يجد النعلين، فيلبس ما هو أسفل من الكعبين
