Explanation of the meaning of *ishtimal al-samaw*.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Our Prophet Muhammad and his family and all his Companions. He said, may Allah have mercy on him: The chapter on the black cloak.

The Shaykh : Have you reviewed *ishtimal al-samaw*?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, but you reviewed it, yet we interpreted it, and al-Fath interpreted it with a different interpretation. We interpreted it as a person covering himself with a garment so that there are no openings for him, and we said this is the aspect of it being "deaf." The author of al-Fath interpreted it as wearing the garment on one side of his body and not having another garment on the other side, as the jurists said in it that one should wrap oneself in a garment with nothing else on him. The first meaning is clearer in terms of etymology, but it is strange that the author did not mention it. If you had mentioned it, or I said, if you had reviewed it, but perhaps you forgot.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : And I think Ibn Daqiq al-Eid spoke about it in his commentary on al-Umdah. I think he spoke about it in his commentary on al-Umdah. Yes.
The student: I say it was mentioned earlier in the book of prayer.

The Shaykh : It is possible that it was mentioned earlier, what?
The student: The book on what covers the 'awrah.

The Shaykh : Where is that?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Very well.
