The reciter: Adam narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, saying: Ash'ath ibn Sulaym narrated to us, saying: I heard Mu'awiyah ibn Suwayd ibn Muqarrin say: I heard al-Bara' ibn 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with them both) say:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us seven things: he forbade the gold ring, or he said: the gold band, and silk, and istabraq, and dibaj, and the red cloak, and bows, and silver vessels. And he commanded us with seven things: visiting the sick, following funeral processions, responding to the sneezer, returning the greeting, accepting the invitation, fulfilling the oath, and helping the oppressed.
نهانا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلّم عن سبع: نهى عن خاتم الذهب أو قال: حلقة الذهب، وعن الحرير، وإستبرق، والديباج، والميثرة الحمراء، والقَسّي، وءانية الفضة. وأمرنا بسبع: بعيادة المريض، واتباع الجنائز، وتشميت العاطس، ورد السلام، وإجابة الداعي، وإبرار المقسم، ونصر المظلوم
