Continuation of the explanation of the statement of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
We have previously discussed this hadith, most of it, the commands in it, and some of the prohibitions. We previously discussed wearing a gold ring, the prohibition of it, and we said: This is forbidden for men. It is forbidden for a man to wear a gold ring or a ring gilded with gold.
And we mentioned:
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) saw a man wearing a gold ring, so he removed it and threw it away. Then he said (peace and blessings be upon him): One of you takes a brand of fire and puts it in his hand or on his finger. And when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) turned away, it was said to the man: Take your ring and benefit from it. He said: I will not take a ring that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) threw away and left.
.
As for women, it is permissible for them to wear gold rings and bracelets, and to wear whatever they wish of it, except if it reaches the limit of extravagance, for extravagance is not permissible, by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And be not excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess.
[Al-An'am 6:141]
.
He said in this hadith:
And regarding drinking in silver vessels
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:825

As for gold vessels, they are more severe and more severe. The prohibition of them is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), where he said:
Do not drink in silver or gold utensils, and do not eat in plates of such metals, for such things are for them (the disbelievers) in this worldly life and for you in the Hereafter.
Bulugh al-Maram 16
.
As for the red saddle blankets: they are like a pillow, cotton is placed in their stuffing, and a piece of silk is placed on it—meaning on this cotton—and it is tied to the saddle of a horse or to the hump of a camel so that the rider sits on it to rest.
And likewise the bows and others, for they are all types of silk, and they are forbidden for men. It is not permissible for a man to wear silk, nor to sit on it, nor to spread it out, nor to wrap himself in it.
As for a woman, it is permissible for her to wear silk, because she needs adornment and beautification, as Allah the Exalted said:
So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]?
[Az-Zukhruf 43:18]
Men are not brought up in adornment nor raised in it, because they are in need of their manliness regarding adornment and beautification with these things.
As for a woman spreading silk out, wrapping herself in it, and sitting on it, the scholars differed on this. Some prohibited and forbade it, and argued with the generality of this hadith:
That the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the red saddle blankets and their like
, and said: A woman is permitted to wear silk because of her need for it, but as for spreading it out, she has no need to spread silk out. And this opinion is closer than the opinion of absolute permissibility, meaning: silk is permissible for women absolutely, because the ruling revolves with its cause, existing or absent, and Allah grants success.
