It was narrated to us by 'Abd Allah ibn Muslimah, from Malik, from 'Abd Allah ibn Dinar, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear a gold ring, so he threw it away and said: "I will never wear it again." So the people threw away their rings. كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم يلبس خاتما من ذهب، فنبذه فقال: لا ألبسه أبدا، فنبذ الناس خواتيمهم
