The Reciter: Chapter: The Departure of the Righteous. It is also said: The departure is the rain. Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to me, saying: Abu 'Uwanah narrated to us from Bayyan from Qays ibn Abi Hazim from Mardas al-Aslami, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The righteous (pious people will depart (die) in succession one after the other, and there will remain (on the earth) useless people like the useless husk of barley seeds or bad dates. يذهب الصالحون الأول فالأول ويبقى حفالة كحفالة الشعير أو التمر لا يباليهم الله بالة
Sahih al-Bukhari 6434
Abu 'Abdullah said: It is said "hafalah" and "hathalah."

The Shaykh : This is as previously mentioned in his saying:
The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them خير الناس قرني ثم الذين يلونهم
Sahih al-Bukhari 3651
So the righteous will depart, one after another, and what remains will be a remnant, like the chaff of barley, and Allah will not care about them in the least, meaning He will not care about punishing them or tormenting them, because they are not worthy of Allah’s concern.
