The reciter: Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to me, saying: Jarir narrated to us from Mansur from Ibrahim from Alqamah, who said: I asked the Mother of the Believers, Aisha, and I said: O Mother of the Believers, how was the work of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? Did he single out any specific days? She said: "No, his work was constant. And who among you is able to do what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was able to do?"

The Shaykh : Did he single out any specific days, meaning he would work on them and not on the others? She clarified that his work was constant, meaning he would maintain the work. So much so that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he was occupied from the two rak'ahs after the midday prayer, made them up after the afternoon prayer and continued doing so. It became a habit for him to pray two rak'ahs after the afternoon prayer. Otherwise, if he singled out certain days, he would fast on Mondays and Thursdays and say that deeds are presented to Allah on those days, so he loved for his deeds to be presented while he was fasting.
