The reciter: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Malik narrated to me from Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn Halhalah from Ma'bad ibn Ka'b ibn Malik from Abu Qatadah ibn Rib'i al-Ansari that he used to narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a funeral and said:

One who finds rest and one from whom rest is found

مستريح ومستراح منه

He said:

A believer is relieved (by death) from the troubles and hardships of the world and leaves for the Mercy of Allah, while (the death of) a wicked person relieves the people, the land, the trees, (and) the animals from him.

العبد المؤمن يستريح من نصب الدنيا وأذاها إلى رحمة الله والعبد الفاجر يستريح منه العباد والبلاد والشجر والدواب
