The reciter: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from A'ishah, who said: .
The Shaykh : The author mentioned the genealogist (qayyif). He placed the chapter on the genealogist in the Book of Inheritance because when a person's lineage is unclear and he is presented to the genealogists, and they attribute him to a person, he is attached to him, and all that is established for a biological son is established for him. This is the reason for including the chapter on the genealogist in the Book of Inheritance.
As for this case, it is that Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) was Black, and his father was White, Zayd ibn Harithah. The Quraysh would hint that Usamah was not from his father, and this saddened the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) because Zayd was his freed slave and Usamah was the son of his freed slave, so it saddened him. When Majazzi al-Madlaji passed by, and he was from the Banu Madlaj, and the Banu Madlaj are known for genealogy, and he looked at them while they had covered their bodies and their feet were visible, he said:Sahih Muslim 1459c because this supports the truth, for Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) is undoubtedly the son of Zayd ibn Harithah, and there is no doubt in this.
But rumors can turn suspected things until they seem like the truth with the abundance of rumors, so when such a genealogist known for genealogy and knowledge comes, he removes this confusion.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me one day in a good mood, and said: O A'ishah, have you not seen that Majazzi al-Madlaji came to me and saw Usamah ibn Zayd and Zayd, and they had a quilt over them, covering their heads, and their feet were visible, and he said: These feet are some of them from the others
The Shaykh : The author mentioned the genealogist (qayyif).
