Is there evidence in this hadith that a drinker of intoxicants is not executed if he repeats the act of drinking?

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : This is one of their proofs; this is one of the proofs of the majority. However, this point that is derived from it cannot be affirmed with certainty, because:
How frequently he has been brought (to the Prophet (ﷺ) on such a charge) ما أكثر ما يؤتى به
Sahih al-Bukhari 6780
It may be brought in cases other than intoxicants, and this man may have seen that if it is repeated three times, that is a great deal, so he said: "How often it is brought," so there is a possibility in it. But:
If he drinks, kill him إذا شرب فاقتلوه
there is no possibility in it.
