The questioner : His statement: Is a treasure (kanz) oil?
The Shaykh : The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever has a treasure of gold..." and oil is not gold. Oil, in the general sense, is stored in the earth, but it is not the known treasure. The treasure, according to the scholars, is what we have passed over: what is found buried from the pre-Islamic age of ignorance.
