The reciter: Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, and Shu'ayb informed us from al-Zuhri, who said:
Muhammad ibn Jibir ibn Muttam used to narrate that it reached Mu'awiyah, while he was with him in a delegation from Quraysh, that 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr was narrating that a king from Qahtan would arise. He became angry, stood up, and praised Allah as He deserves. Then he said: "As for what follows, it has reached me that some men among you are narrating reports that are not in the Book of Allah and are not transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Those are the ignorant ones among you. So beware of the hopes that mislead their people. For I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'This matter of authority remains with Quraysh. Whoever opposes them, Allah will cast him into the Fire on his face, as long as they uphold the religion.'"
