His saying, Exalted is He: “Have the disbelievers been recompensed for what they used to do?” Is it permissible to make a supplication after this, and likewise after “Is not Allah sufficient for His slave?”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh, is it permissible to say after
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:36]

The Shaykh : Is it...

The questioner :
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:36]
what they used to do, is it permissible to make a supplication after it or not, and likewise for the other verses
Is not Allah sufficient for His Servant
[Az-Zumar 39:36]

The Shaykh : The ruling differs between
Is not Allah sufficient for His Servant
[Az-Zumar 39:36]
and
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:36]
.
Because
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
[Al-Mutaffifin 83:36]
is a statement of confirmation, so the “hal” in it means “indeed,” whereas
Is not Allah sufficient for His slave
Is not Allah the most just of judges?
[At-Tin 95:8]
Is He not able to give life to the dead?
is a question that requires an answer. So if you say “Yes,” there is no harm.
And it was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said after the saying of Allah, Exalted is He,
Is He not able to give life to the dead?
, he said:
Glory be to You, Yes
So if a person answers this question and says “Yes,” there is no harm.
