What is the ruling if the debtor admits to the debt but claims he has repaid it, while the creditor denies this?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, and all praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. Our esteemed Shaykh, a man gave another man a loan of money. A period of time passed, and he went to him to recover the debt. The debtor said to him, “I have given you your debt,” and they differed on the matter. What is the ruling?

The Shaykh : Does the debtor now admit to it or not?

The questioner : He admitted that he borrowed it.

The Shaykh : He admitted that he borrowed it, but he has repaid it. So we have an admission and a claim, correct?
He admitted that he had the money, then claimed that he had repaid him. His claim is not accepted; we take him by his admission and do not believe his claim unless he brings evidence, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
The proof is upon the claimant البينة على المدعي
