Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [But those who disbelieved are in denial] to the end of Surat al-Buruj.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows:
This is the second meeting in this month, the month of Jumada al-Thani in the year 1414, which takes place every Thursday of every week. Through this meeting, much good has occurred, praise be to Allah, as people have benefited from it, both those present who listen and those who hear it via the tape.
There is no doubt that this is a blessing from Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, upon His servants in this time when ambitions have weakened and seekers of knowledge have become few. But Allah the Exalted has brought these means, praise be to Allah, these great, numerous, and easy means. A person can benefit from knowledge while driving his car, or while eating lunch or dinner, or while drinking coffee, or in any state.
Our meeting today includes the exegesis of the remainder of Surat al-Buruj:[Al-Buruj 85:1], and the questions that are raised, to which we will answer with the success of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He.
We have reached the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, in Surat al-Buruj:[Al-Buruj 85:19-20]:
His saying:: includes everyone who disbelieves in Allah and His Messenger, whether they are from the polytheists, or from the Jews, or from the Christians, or others. This is because the Jews and Christians now, after the sending of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), are not upon a religion, and their religions do not benefit them, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Seal of the Prophets. So whoever does not believe in him is not upon any religion. Rather, it has preceded us that whoever does not believe in one Messenger from the Messengers is a disbeliever in all the Messengers. For example, whoever does not believe that Noah was a Messenger, even if he believes in the other Prophets, is a denier of all the Prophets. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:105]
Likewise, the one who denies Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is a denier of the other Messengers. So if the Jews claim that they are upon a religion and that they follow the Torah brought by Moses, we say to them: You are disbelievers in Moses, disbelievers in the Torah.
And if the Christians, who call themselves Christians today, claim that they believe in Jesus, we say to them: You have lied. You are disbelievers in Jesus because you are disbelievers in Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The wonder is that these Jews and Christians disbelieve in Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) even though they:[Al-A'raf 7:157], [Al-Baqarah 2:146], but stubbornness, arrogance, and envy prevented them from believing in Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), [Al-Baqarah 2:109].
So the result is that the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Sad 38:2] includes everyone who disbelieves in Muhammad, including the Jews and Christians. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: .
All the disbelievers are in denial. And He said:, making denial their circumstance, meaning: that it surrounds them from every side, refuge sought in Allah.
He said the Exalted:[Al-Buruj 85:19-20] meaning: that Allah the Exalted surrounds them from every side; they do not escape from Him, not from His knowledge, nor His power, nor His punishment. But He, Mighty and Majestic, may delay the wrongdoer, but when He seizes him, He does not let him escape.
[Al-Buruj 85:21-22]:
meaning: what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought.
meaning: possessing greatness and glory.
And describing the Qur'an as Majid does not mean that glory is a description of the Qur'an itself only, but it is a description of the Qur'an and of the one who bears this Qur'an, carries it, and fulfills his obligation of reciting it with its true recitation. For he will have glory, might, and elevation.
And His saying the Exalted:[Al-Buruj 85:22] means by that: the Preserved Tablet with Allah, Mighty and Majestic, which is the Mother of the Book, as Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said: [Ar-Ra'd 13:39].
If we were asked about this Tablet: What material is it made of? What would we say?
We would say: Allah knows best. So if he said: Is it made of wood? Or iron? Or glass? Or gold? Or silver?
We would say: We do not know. It is a Tablet in which Allah wrote the decrees of everything. And among what He wrote in it is that this Qur'an will be revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so it is in a Preserved Tablet. The scholars said: Preserved, no one can reach it, preserved from change and alteration. And alteration and change only occur in the other books, because writing from Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is of types. And I hope you pay attention to this:
The first type: writing in the Preserved Tablet. This writing is not altered and not changed. For this reason, Allah named it a Preserved Tablet. It is not possible for what is in it to be altered or changed, because it is the final one.
The second: writing upon the children of Adam while they are in the wombs of their mothers. Because when the human being in his mother's womb reaches four months, Allah sends to him an angel entrusted with the wombs, who breathes the soul into him by the permission of Allah. Because the body is a piece of flesh; when the soul is breathed into it, it becomes a human being. And he is commanded with four words: to write his provision, his term, his deeds, and whether he is wretched or happy.
There is another annual writing, every year, which is the writing that occurs in the Night of Decree. For Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, decrees in this night what will happen in that year. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:[Ad-Dukhan 44:4], so He writes in this night what will happen in that year.
There is a fourth writing, which is the writing of the scrolls in the hands of the angels. This writing occurs after the deed. The three previous writings all occur before the deed, but this last writing occurs after the deed. It is written upon the human being what he does of speech with his tongue, or action with his limbs, or belief with his heart. For the angels entrusted with the preservation of the children of Adam, meaning the preservation of their deeds, write. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Infitar 82:9-12].
So this last writing differs from the three previous writings, because it is the writing of what is after the deed, so that what the human being did is written upon him. Then when the Day of Resurrection comes, he is given this book, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Isra 17:13-14] meaning: you are given the book, and it is said: You read, and account for yourself. Some of the Salaf said: "He has been just to you who made you an accountant for yourself", and this is true. What justice is more eloquent than saying to a person: Please, this is what you did, account for yourself! Is this not justice?
The greatest justice is this. On the Day of Resurrection, you are given this book unfolded and open before you, not closed. You read it and it becomes clear to you that you did such and such on such a day, in such a place, so and so. So it is a fixed thing that does not change. And if you deny it, there is someone who testifies against you:[An-Nur 24:24] The tongue says: I spoke such and such.
[An-Nur 24:24] The hand says: I struck. And the foot says: I walked. Rather, the skin also says, for the skins testify to what they touched: [Fussilat 41:21].
The important thing now is that the Preserved Tablet is this Tablet in which Allah wrote the decrees of everything. It is preserved from change, preserved from being reached by anyone. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, knows what He wrote in it. And we said: It is preserved because it does not change. And what is in the hands of the angels changes. And we said that the writings are four:
The Preserved Tablet, the second is the writing of the fetuses, the third is the annual writing, which takes place on the Night of Decree, and the fourth is the writing of deeds after they occur. This is done by the angels; one angel is on the right and one on the left, recording for the human being everything he says. We are recording on the tape now, so nothing of our speech is missed, not even a breath is missed by this tape. So the angels also write everything:[Qaf 50:18]. From this saying, the scholars of rhetoric say: "The indefinite noun in the context of negation implies generality," meaning that whatever saying you utter, you have a strict watcher present who does not leave you. It is mentioned that Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) was ill, and he was groaning in his illness due to the severity of the sickness. One of his companions entered upon him and said: "O Abu 'Abdullah, Tawus—and he is a well-known man from the generation after the Companions—says: The angels write for the human being even the groaning of illness", even his groaning in his illness. "So he (may Allah have mercy on him) refrained from groaning". So the matter is not a trivial one. We ask Allah the Exalted to take charge of us and you with His pardon and forgiveness.
And with this, the speech on this great surah ends, which Allah the Exalted began with the oath by the sky with the constellations, and ended with His saying:[Al-Buruj 85:21-22]. So whoever holds fast to this great Qur'an has glory, majesty, honor, and elevation. For this reason, we advise our Islamic nation, starting with the individuals of its peoples, to hold fast to the great Qur'an. And we direct the call, in a more emphatic and emphatic manner, to the rulers of its affairs to hold fast to the great Qur'an, and not to be deceived by the gaudy, ornate things that come from the disbelieving nations who enact laws that contradict the Shari'ah, contradict justice, and contradict the reform of creation. They should not put these laws into implementation and then cast the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger behind their backs. For this, by Allah, is the cause of lagging behind. I do not think anyone imagines now that a nation with this huge number would be so lagging behind, as if it were a small state in a village compared to the disbelieving states. But the cause of that is undoubtedly known, and it is: that we left what is our majesty and honor, which is holding fast to this great Qur'an, and we went panting after obsolete, corrupt systems, contrary to justice, built on oppression and injustice. So we call upon our rulers, and by our rulers I mean: the rulers of all the Muslims, because we are one nation, even if our lands are separated and our tongues differ. We call upon them to fear Allah Mighty and Majestic, and to return, a true return, to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), so that security and stability are established for them, and they attain majesty, glory, and elevation, and their peoples obey them, and there is nothing in the hearts of their peoples against them. And that is because when a person rectifies what is between him and his Lord, Allah rectifies what is between him and the people. So if the rulers want the peoples to submit to them and obey them, let them obey Allah first, so that their nations will obey them. Otherwise, it is not reasonable that they disobey the Greatest King, who is Allah Mighty and Majestic, and then want their peoples to obey them. This is far-fetched. Rather, the further the heart is from Allah, the further the people are from their leader. We ask Allah for well-being. And the closer one is to Allah, the closer the people are to him.
So we ask Allah to restore to this Islamic nation its glory and honor, and to humble the enemies of the Muslims in every place. And we ask Allah the Exalted to help our Muslim brothers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to assist them against what has befallen them from these Christians who do not want the Muslims to have any standing in any place. And we ask Allah to humble the Christians and the Jews, and to suppress them, and to turn them back on their heels in disappointment, as well as every enemy of the Muslims. Indeed, He is capable of all things.
And now we take the questions, and each person has only one question, once on the right and once on the left, out of concern for establishing justice.

His saying:
Those who disbelieved
The people of Noah denied the messengers
Likewise, the one who denies Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is a denier of the other Messengers. So if the Jews claim that they are upon a religion and that they follow the Torah brought by Moses, we say to them: You are disbelievers in Moses, disbelievers in the Torah.

whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them
Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them
So the result is that the saying of Allah the Exalted:
But those who disbelieve
By Myself, Muhammad's soul is in My hand, no one from this nation—meaning the nation of the call—Jew or Christian, hears of me and then does not believe in what I have brought, except that he will be among the companions of the Fire.
All the disbelievers are in denial. And He said:
In denial
He said the Exalted:
(19) But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, (20) While Allah encompasses them from behind.
(21) But this is an honored Qur'an (22) [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
Nay, it is
بَلْ هُوَa glorious Qur'an
And describing the Qur'an as Majid does not mean that glory is a description of the Qur'an itself only, but it is a description of the Qur'an and of the one who bears this Qur'an, carries it, and fulfills his obligation of reciting it with its true recitation. For he will have glory, might, and elevation.
And His saying the Exalted:
[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.
If we were asked about this Tablet: What material is it made of? What would we say?
