Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (Nay, it is a glorious Qur'an)
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Buruj: 21-22] .
(Nay, it is) meaning: what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought.
(A glorious Qur'an) meaning: possessing greatness and glory. The description of the Qur'an as glorious does not mean that glory is a description of the Qur'an itself only, but it is a description of the Qur'an and of the one who bore this Qur'an, carried it, and fulfilled his obligation of reciting it with its due recitation, for he will have glory, might, and elevation.
and His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Buruj: 22] By this is meant: the Preserved Tablet with Allah (Mighty and Majestic), which is the Mother of the Book,As Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said: [Al-Ra'd: 39] ,If we were to ask someone about this tablet: What material is it made of?We say: Allah knows best! If one were to ask: Is it made of wood? Or iron? Or glass? Or gold? Or silver? We would say: We do not know.
It is a tablet in which Allah wrote the decrees of everything,And among what He wrote in it is: that this Qur'an would be revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so it is in a Preserved Tablet.
The scholars said: Preserved: no one can reach it, preserved from alteration and change, and alteration and change only occur in the other books; because writing from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is of types,And I hope you will pay attention to this: The first type: writing in the Preserved Tablet: and this writing is not altered nor changed, for this reason Allah named it a Preserved Tablet, it is not possible for what is in it to be altered or changed, because it is the final one.
The second type: Writing on the children of Adam while they are in their mothers' wombs: because when the human being in his mother's womb reaches four months, Allah sends to him an angel entrusted with the wombs, who breathes into him the soul -by the permission of Allah-; because the body is a piece of flesh, when the soul is breathed into it, it becomes a human being,And he is commanded to say four words: He writes his provision, his term, his deed, and whether he will be wretched or happy.
The third type: The annual writing every year: and this is the writing that takes place on the Night of Decree, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) decrees in this night what will happen in that year,Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: [Ad-Dukhan: 4] , so He writes in this night what will happen in that year.
The fourth type: Writing in the scrolls in the hands of the angels: and this writing takes place after the deed.
And the three previous writings all take place before the deed, but this last writing takes place after the deed, it is written on the human being what he does of speech with his tongue, or action with his limbs, or belief with his heart, for the angels entrusted with the preservation of the children of Adam -Meaning: with the preservation of their deeds- write,Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Infitar: 9-12] .
So this last writing differs from the three previous writings; because it is the writing of what is after the deed, so that what the human being did is written on him, so when the Day of Resurrection comes, he is given this book,As Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Isra: 13-14] meaning: you are given the book,And it is said: You read, and hold yourself to account,Some of the Salaf said: He who made you a reckoner over yourself has been just to you.
And this is correct,What greater fairness is there than to say to a person: Please, this is what you did, hold yourself to account! Is this not justice? The greatest justice is this.
On the Day of Resurrection you are given this book open and unfolded before you, not closed, you read and it becomes clear to you that you did on such a day,In such and such a place: such and such, so it is something preserved that does not change, and if you deny it, there is someone who testifies against you, [An-Nur: 24] the tongue says: I spoke such and such, [An-Nur: 24] the hand says: I struck,And the leg says: I walked, rather the skin also says, so the skins testify to what they touched, [Fussilat: 21] .
The important thing now is that the Preserved Tablet is this tablet in which Allah wrote the decrees of everything, and it is preserved from change, preserved from anyone reaching it, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) knows what He wrote in it,And We said: It is preserved because it does not change, and what is in the hands of the angels changes,And We said: The writings are four: the first: the writing of the Preserved Tablet.
The second: The writing of the fetuses.
And the third is: The annual writing, which takes place on the Night of Decree.
And the fourth: The writing of deeds after they occur, and this is in the hands of the angels, one angel on the right and one on the left, they record on the human being everything he says, we are now recording on a tape in the recorder, so nothing of our speech is missed, even the breath is captured by this tape.
So the angels also write down everything: [Qaf: 18] And His saying: [Qaf: 18] the scholars of rhetoric say about it: the indefinite in the context of negation implies generality,That is: that any speech you say, you have a strict watcher present who does not leave you.
It is mentioned that Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) was ill, and he was groaning in his illness due to the severity of the illness, so one of his companions entered upon him,And he said: O Abu 'Abdullah, Tawus -and he is a known man from the Tabi'un-He says: said that the angels write on the human being even his groaning in his illness, so he (may Allah have mercy on him) held back from groaning.
So the matter is not a trivial matter.
We ask Allah the Exalted to take charge of us and you with His pardon and forgiveness.
And up to here ends the speech on this great surah which Allah the Exalted began with the oath by the sky with the constellations,And He concluded it by saying: [Al-Buruj: 21-22] , so whoever holds fast to this great Qur'an, for him is glory, might, honor, and elevation.
And for this reason we advise our Islamic community, starting with its individuals, to hold fast to the great Qur'an, and we direct the call in a more emphatic manner to the rulers of its affairs to hold fast to the great Qur'an, and not to be deceived by the gaudy, ornate things that come from the disbelieving nations who enact laws that contradict the Shari'ah, contradict justice, contradict the reform of creation, that they put these laws into execution, then cast the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger behind their backs, for this, by Allah, is the cause of lagging behind, and I do not think anyone imagines now that a community with this huge number would be this lagging behind; as if it were a district in a village relative to the disbelieving state; but the cause of that -without doubt- is known,And it is: that we left what is our might and honor, which is holding fast to this great Qur'an, and we went panting after obsolete, corrupt systems, contradicting justice, built on oppression and injustice.
So we call upon our rulers,And by our rulers I mean: and the rulers of all the Muslims; because we are one community, even if the lands are divided among us, and our tongues differ, we call upon them to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and to return a true return to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) so that security and stability are established for them, and they attain might, glory, and elevation, and their communities obey them, and there is nothing in the hearts of their communities against them.
And that is because when a person rectifies what is between him and his Lord, Allah rectifies what is between him and the people, so if the rulers want the communities to submit to them and to obey Allah in them, let them obey Allah first so that their communities obey them, otherwise it is not reasonable that they disobey the Greatest King, which is Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and then want their communities to obey them, this is far-fetched, rather, the further the heart is from Allah, the further the people are from their leader, we ask Allah for well-being, and the closer one is to Allah, the closer the people are to him.
So we ask Allah to restore to this Islamic community its glory and honor, and to humble the enemies of the Muslims in every place, and we ask Allah the Exalted to help our Muslim brothers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to assist them against what these Christians have inflicted upon them, who do not want the Muslims to have any standing in any place, and we ask Allah to humble the Christians and the Jews, and to suppress them, and to turn them back on their heels disappointed, and likewise every enemy of the Muslims, He is Able to do all things.
Allah the Exalted said:
(21) But this is an honored Qur'an (22) [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
(Nay, it is) meaning: what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought.
(A glorious Qur'an) meaning: possessing greatness and glory. The description of the Qur'an as glorious does not mean that glory is a description of the Qur'an itself only, but it is a description of the Qur'an and of the one who bore this Qur'an, carried it, and fulfilled his obligation of reciting it with its due recitation, for he will have glory, might, and elevation.
and His saying, the Exalted:
[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.

The third type: The annual writing every year: and this is the writing that takes place on the Night of Decree, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) decrees in this night what will happen in that year,Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
On that night is made distinct every precise matter -
The fourth type: Writing in the scrolls in the hands of the angels: and this writing takes place after the deed.
And the three previous writings all take place before the deed, but this last writing takes place after the deed, it is written on the human being what he does of speech with his tongue, or action with his limbs, or belief with his heart, for the angels entrusted with the preservation of the children of Adam -Meaning: with the preservation of their deeds- write,Allah the Exalted said:
(9) No! But you deny the Recompense. (10) And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, (11) Noble and recording; (12) They know whatever you do.
So this last writing differs from the three previous writings; because it is the writing of what is after the deed, so that what the human being did is written on him, so when the Day of Resurrection comes, he is given this book,As Allah the Exalted said:
(13) And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open. (14) [It will be said], "Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant."
And this is correct,What greater fairness is there than to say to a person: Please, this is what you did, hold yourself to account! Is this not justice? The greatest justice is this.
On the Day of Resurrection you are given this book open and unfolded before you, not closed, you read and it becomes clear to you that you did on such a day,In such and such a place: such and such, so it is something preserved that does not change, and if you deny it, there is someone who testifies against you,
On a Day when their tongues
يَوْمَ تَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَلْسِنَتُهُمْtheir hands and their feet will bear witness against them as to what they used to do.
And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allah, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.

Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
