The Book of Jumu'ah, the Two Festivals, the Prayer for Rain, the Eclipse Prayer, and Funerals-02b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and Ishaq al-Hanzali all narrated from Ibn 'Uyaynah. Qutaybah said: Sufyan narrated to us from Amr, who heard Ata' reporting from Safwan ibn Ya'la from his father that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting on the pulpit:
And they will call, "O Malik ونادوا يا مالك
[Az-Zukhruf 43:77]
.

The Shaykh : Do you have anything regarding abrogation?
The reader: Here it says: "It concerns recitation in the sermon, which is prescribed without dispute. They differed on its obligation, and the correct view in our opinion is that it is obligatory, and the minimum is one verse."

The Shaykh : In any case, reciting a verse in the sermon is a prescribed matter with no doubt about it. However, I thought he said: "And they called out, O Malik" with a tanwin (vowel ending), for there is a recitation of it, but I do not recall now whether it is a Saba'i recitation or an anomalous one. In any case, it contains evidence for what the commentator (may Allah have mercy on him) said, and the hadith that follows it indicates that as well.
